Capital City Pipes & Drums, Highland Dancers Compete at Ohio Scottish Games

Columbus, OH - The Members of the Capital City Pipes and Drums, Highland Dancers participated in the Ohio Scottish Games. The Ohio Scottish Games are held at the Lorain County Fairgrounds in Wellington on the 4th Saturday every June. Established in 1977, this long standing event is presented by the members of the Scottish American Cultural Society of Ohio, an organization dedicated to the preservation and promotion of their proud Scottish heritage and ancestry. The Ohio Scottish Games highlight the traditional dance, music and athletics of the ancient Highland Games. This event is for the enjoyment of all Scots and friends as well as to introduce the Scottish Arts and traditions to the community. The Pipe Band and Dancers had an excellent showing, here are our results:

Highland Dancing:
Lauren Kelenko - 2nd in fling
Carrie Houston - 3rd in Sean Tribuhas
Breana Batty - 2nd in hornpipe, 3rd n fling, 2nd in sword, 1st in Sean Tribuhas, Also, Breanna won overall in her class!

Solo Drumming:
Zach Cochran - Won 2nd place for the Grade 4 SR. March Competition

Pipe Band:
Capital City Pipes and Drums received 6th place out of 10 bands in the Grade 5 Quick March Competition.

We are all very proud of our organization and for our efforts!
